To assist parents to fulfill their responsibility as the first and foremost educators of their children in matters of faith by using a continuous and developmental faith formation curriculum. It will be structured to provide information and experiences that are theologically and educationally sound to fit with the student's abilities and level of understanding.
Through our 1st-10th grade Faith Formation process, we seek:
to lead the students to develop a deeper and more personal relationship with Jesus
to lead the students to participate in the Parish Faith Community through worship, prayer, and Sacramental life
to help the students form a moral conscience rooted in Gospel values and the message of Jesus
You can register your students at any time between now and August 31, 2020. Please fill out the form online or click here to print the form. Please mail your form and check to Holy Cross Parish, 3012 Jackson Street, Sioux City, IA 51104.
Please consider being a catechist or a high school small group leader this year: our program cannot operate without you! This goes for parents, teens, young adults, or anyone with a desire to share your faith. You don’t have to “know it all;” resources are provided for you, and our young people just need great witnesses to Christ in their lives.
Please consider being a catechist classroom aide. This goes for anyone under the age of 18 who is interested in volunteering with the Holy Cross PREP program.
If you are interested in volunteering, please fill out the volunteer application by clicking here or by printing the form and mailing it to Holy Cross Parish, 3012 Jackson Street, Sioux City, IA 51104.
Waivers of students’ registration fees are given to any parent catechists/volunteers.
For any family the 1 student is $85, 2 students are $170.00, and 3 or more students are $225.00.
Fees are due and should be paid at the time of registration. A late fee of $10 per child will be added for registrations that are not submitted by August 31. Fees must be paid for your child to attend PREP. If your financial circumstances make that impossible, please contact Darby Young.
Sessions for grades 1-10 will meet on Wednesday evenings throughout the school year. Our first PREP session will start on Wednesday, September 9, 2020.
Grades 1-3 will meet at the St. Michael Parish Center from 6:45-7:45 pm.
Grades 4-10 will meet at Holy Cross Blessed Sacrament Center from 7:00-8:00 pm.
Thank you for your patience as we navigate through this year.
